AthleteIDs

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers for families deciding whether to start an AthleteID, and for coaches opening one for the first time.

The basics

What is an AthleteID?

An AthleteID is one organized profile for a student-athlete: film, statistics, academics, achievements, schedule and the contact information the family chooses to share.

Every AthleteID has the same structure and one link, so a coach always knows where to look.

Who can create an AthleteID?

A parent or guardian, or the athlete themselves. Families usually start it together and then decide who keeps it updated.

What age can athletes start?

There is no set starting age. Younger athletes are managed by a parent or guardian account.

Can parents manage an AthleteID?

Yes. A parent or guardian can create the profile, update everything on it, and control what is public.

Can athletes manage their own?

Yes. An athlete can have their own sign-in and update their own profile. A parent or guardian can keep access at the same time.

Can one parent manage multiple athletes?

Yes. One account can manage more than one athlete, and each athlete keeps their own separate AthleteID.

Can an athlete play multiple sports?

Yes. One AthleteID can hold more than one sport, and each sport shows the positions, measurements and statistics that actually belong to it.

Do coaches need an AthleteIDs account?

No. Anyone with the link can open a public AthleteID and its Coach View. An account is only needed for the extra coach tools like saved lists.

Privacy and what is public

What information is public?

Only what the family publishes. A public AthleteID typically shows the athlete's name, sport, class year, position, school, general location, film, statistics and achievements.

A profile can also be kept private, or published but left out of the directory.

Can contact information remain private?

Yes. Contact details are private by default. Each phone number or email is only shown publicly if the family marks that specific contact as approved for sharing.

What do Published and Verified stats mean?

Published / Family-controlled means the family chose to publish the profile and controls what is public.

Verified stats only appears when a stat line has a source, such as an official source, MaxPreps, or a dated family attestation. It is not a ranking, evaluation or recruiting endorsement.

Does AthleteIDs rank athletes?

No. There are no rankings, star ratings or grades anywhere on AthleteIDs. Profiles only show information the family entered.

Does AthleteIDs guarantee recruiting exposure?

No. AthleteIDs makes an athlete's information clear and easy to share. It cannot promise that a coach will look, reply, or make an offer.

Changes over time

Can school or team information change?

Yes. Schools, club teams, positions, measurements and statistics can all be updated whenever they change, and the profile updates everywhere at once.

Does the AthleteID number stay the same?

Yes. The AthleteID number is issued once and stays with the athlete, even as their school, sport or team changes.

How do I share an AthleteID?

Share the profile link, the QR code, the digital card, or the Recruiting Profile PDF. AthleteIDs never sends messages to coaches on your behalf — you always review and send it yourself.

How do I delete or archive an AthleteID?

From the family dashboard you can unpublish the profile, archive it so it is no longer public anywhere, or ask us to delete the account and its data.
